Amankora Punakha Lodge

Punakha

PROPERTY OVERVIEW

Accessible via a suspension bridge draped in prayer flags over the Mo Chhu River, Punakha Lodge blends tradition with serenity

At its heart stands an authentic Bhutanese farmhouse, initially built by a former Je Khenpo (chief abbot of Bhutan), adding historical depth to its charm.

Nestled in a lush subtropical valley, where much of Bhutan’s fresh produce is grown and where the royal family spends its winters, the lodge offers breathtaking views of orange orchards and rice terraces. Eight suites mirror the elegant design of Amankora Paro, while the two Mo Chhu Suites, housed in a separate building, include spacious living areas. These suites can also be interconnected to form two two-bedroom residences, ideal for families or small groups.

Each accommodation is designed for comfort and authenticity, featuring king-size beds, traditional wood-burning stoves, and banquette window seats. Bathrooms have terrazzo-clad bathtubs, twin vanities, separate showers, and toilets, ensuring a refined and relaxing stay.
