Naxos Barefoot Package
For the beach Lovers, a must-see List of Naxos beaches
Agios Prokopios beach lies approximately 5.7 kilometres from Naxos Town, which is why many people choose to take a leisurely walk there or get there by bike. Awarded for its quality waters on both a Greek and international level, the beach of Agios Prokopios is truly magnificent. Right behind the beach and towards its northern end there lie the remains of a salt pan which was part of an industry many decades ago. This long beach of light coloured thick sand has bright turquoise waters and its natural beauty attracts many visitors making it the 2nd most popular beach of Naxos. Its unique colour and surroundings are what makes some people think of Agios Prokopios as a giant swimming pool.
Plaka beach is around 15 minutes south of the capital, Chora. The south-western coastline of Naxos is popular with tourists due to its array of stunning, long, white, sandy beaches. One of the largest beaches on the island, Plaka has sweeping views across to Paros island, making it one of the most picturesque beaches in the Cycladic islands. Plaka might feel a little more refined than other beaches in Naxos, which is to be expected with a beach so beautiful, however, it still maintains a certain unspoiled feeling to it, especially the southeastern side, where farmland still meets the beach.
Mikri Vigla beach is endued by nature, with the golden sand that goes into the crystal-clear blue waters of the Aegean Sea. Untouched by mass tourism has maintained the sweet symmetry of the traditional architecture of the Cyclades combined in harmony with the wild beauty of the coastal landscape. The cape of Mikri Vigla constitutes a rare geological phenomenon due to the unique cedar-tree forest, one of the few in the world but also because of its archaeological wealth. Ancient inscriptions and messages, engraved over the wind-beaten hillsides, transport the visitor back in time and unfold the pages of history. Best location for Kitesurfers in the Cyclades.
