Day 1
ATHENS – NAXOS
Departure from Piraeus port and arrival in Naxos. Settle in your room and then we suggest you plunge into the pool and get some rest.
In the evening, take a walk in Old Town, called Chora, the fortified town with the cobble-stone alleys and the Venetian walled houses, where the narrow backstreets and the galleries, the catholic churches and the fortifications have created a unique mixing of Cycladic and Mediaeval architecture. For dinner, we highly recommend Metaxi Mas restaurant, an ode to Mediterranean cuisine.

Day 2
SITESEEING
Enjoy your breakfast and spend your free day discovering the town. The Chora of Naxos offers many great attractions. You can wander in the Old Town and reach the impressive Castle which was built by the Venetians. The archaeological museum is also within the castle, as well as the Orthodox and Catholic Cathedrals.
We recommend you go close to Sunset hour to Portara, Naxos’ most famous landmark. Portara is the entrance to an unfinished temple, probably in honour to God Apollo, while others believe it would be dedicated to God Dionysus. In the evening, we suggest you make a visit in Naxos old town, where you could walk through the traditional alleys of the island, visit secret spots and dine inside the Old Town.

You continue your wandering to the Village of Plaka.
The village is built by a picture-perfect cove with a lovely beach. See also the ruins of the ancient tower on Palaiopyrgos location, near Agios Matthaios beach.
