Santorini is the island of the caldera: whitewashed villages on the rim of a flooded volcano, cave suites with infinity pools and some of the most famous sunsets in the world. Our travel designers in Athens plan tailor-made luxury stays in Santorini, from the right village and suite to private sailing, winery visits and the transfers that link it all.

Where to stay in Santorini
- Oia: the classic sunset village at the northern tip, with cave suites and the most photographed views. Lively in the evenings.
- Imerovigli: the highest point of the caldera rim and our favourite for couples: quieter than Oia, with uninterrupted views across to the volcano and Skaros Rock.
- Firostefani and Fira: close to restaurants, shops and the old port, convenient for shorter stays.
- The south and the east coast: villas and beach resorts near Perissa, Kamari and Akrotiri, for families and longer stays with easy beach access.

Things to do
- Caldera sailing: a private catamaran or yacht cruise past the volcano and the hot springs, with a swim and dinner on board at sunset.
- Wine tasting: Santorini’s volcanic soil produces Assyrtiko and Vinsanto. Visit family wineries with a private guide.
- Akrotiri: the Bronze Age town preserved under volcanic ash, best seen with a licensed archaeologist.
- The caldera walk: the path from Fira to Oia along the rim, with stops in Firostefani and Imerovigli.
- Beaches: the black-sand beaches of Perissa and Kamari, and the Red Beach near Akrotiri.
- Private dining: tables on a caldera terrace, a chef in your villa, or fresh fish in Ammoudi Bay below Oia.

Getting there
Santorini is a short flight from Athens, and fast ferries connect it with Piraeus, Mykonos, Milos, Paros and Crete. For a faster or more private transfer, we arrange helicopters and private boats. Santorini fits well into a luxury island-hopping route, typically after Athens and Mykonos.
When to go
May, June, September and October bring warm days, a warm sea and fewer crowds than July and August. Most hotels and restaurants open from spring until late autumn.
Santorini for honeymoons
Santorini is one of the most popular honeymoon islands in Greece. Combine a caldera suite with a sunset sail and a few quieter days on Milos or Antiparos. See honeymoons in Greece.
